I promote and encourage tourism that respects the places and the environment in which vacationers have chosen to spend their stay.
I help them understand nature and the environment thanks to the approximately 1/2 hectare park that surrounds the Domaine de Garat. We have classified trees, including a multi-century cedar. We favor the fauna with a pond where toads endangered breed and where we can observe the tadpoles lounging there.
Tourists can move around and discover naturally cultivated fruits and vegetables in the vegetable garden, as well as observe plants known for their medicinal properties.
We have renovated 5 surprising guest rooms with local craftsmen including a stonemason, we have favored good insulation to reduce the use of air conditioning or heating and have retractable mosquito nets installed in the windows so that our travelers can enjoy the cool night air with peace of mind, rather than using a mechanical cooling mode.
The paints were chosen with the NF environment and labexcell label from Zoplan and the majority of the furniture was bargain-hunted with the greatest care, then repaired and rehabilitated, even diverted, in order to give a second life to its objects for the more handmade.
We also decided, despite a higher financial cost, to work with small local artisans for the daily life of our charming rooms and for the health and respect of our customers. The laundry is washed by a launderer at 5km, which uses the method of incorporating oxygen and low temperatures. The soap bars are made by a soap dish, 1 km away, which uses organic essential oils.
