Based on these principles and managed by a 100 % Tanzanian team, our agency strives as much as possible to base its activities on local resources. Since its creation, it has recruited its employees locally and developed their skills so as to make them as autonomous as possible. Today, all employees are shareholders of Soaring Flamingo and thus have a stake the company.
In addition, it cooperates with the local community to provide its services (guides, etc.) and sources its supplies first from local suppliers in order to encourage the development of regional businesses.Soaring Flamingo is a beautiful story of chance and encounters: that of a Swiss, Rolf, who founded the agency with a Masai friend in 2007. The latter in turn meets Fred, a passing traveler who becomes the contact for French speaking customers. Today the team has a general manager, 4 driver-guides and 2 administrative employees: all are Tanzanians and based in Arusha. Rolf and Fred, respectively based in Singapore and Paris, provide financial and commercial/marketing support.

- Safaris: we offer tailor-made individual tours, with a maximum of 4 to 6 passengers per vehicle. Our experienced local driver-guides, who have worked for us for many years and regularly undergo continuous training, all speak French and English and are appreciated for their skills and friendliness. Our Toyota Land Cruisers 4x4 safari vehicles are custom made, with the ability to open the roof and large windows for better wildlife viewing. Apart from the traditional 4 x 4 safaris, we offer walking safaris, night safaris and balloon safaris.
- Trekking: to soak up this breathtaking nature, we systematically suggest to all our customers wishing to go on a safari to devote at least one day of their trip to walking ... Occasional hikers will be able to discover extraordinary landscapes such as the Ngorongoro highlands or the Empakaai crater, the most experienced ones will attack Oldoinyo Lengai, Mount Meru or even the famous Kilimanjaro. Our local guides have extensive knowledge of the terrain and provide valuable information on the environment and local life.
- Cultural ecotourism: the people of Tanzania are incredibly diverse. They belong to around 130 different tribes, each of which has its own language and culture. Going to meet some of these tribes is a particularly moving and enriching human adventure.
- In addition to these different activities, we offer seaside stays on Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia Island.
